My Chiropody and Podiatry experience

I graduated from The University of Brighton with a BSc Honours in Podiatry in 1996. For the first four years of my career I worked within the NHS for various community trusts. I worked in a variety of settings including GP surgeries, health centres, clinics, hospitals, people's homes and residential and nursing homes. I also ran a private clinic for one department as part of my NHS job. I moved to Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust in 2000 to experience working in an acute setting. Here I treated people with medical conditions that caused their feet to become high risk. This work was predominately within Diabetes Centres where I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team. I also treated people referred by other departments within the trust and also in-patients. I also experienced working within the private sector providing Chiropody and Podiatry treatment for people within a large high street store.
Sherburn Foot Clinic provides treatment for a wide range of foot conditions such as hard skin (callus), corns, cracked heels and problematic nails. Advice is also given on foot pain, verrucae, in growing toe nails, fungal infections and other foot problems.
Since running my own practice I have found that the continuity with my clients improves their comfort and mobility which shows that routine Chiropody/Podiatry does make a difference.
